Cetirizine

Cetirizine is an antihistamine medicine used to treat the symptoms of hayfever (e.g. sneezing, runny and itchy nose and eye irritation) , and other allergies such as pet and dust allergies. It can also be used to treat raised, red itchy skin (symptoms of urticaria, which is often known as hives or nettle rash).

Drug Warning

It is recommended to avoid taking Cetirizine with alcohol.

Whilst not generally noted to cause impairment to concentration, it is advisable to check the individual response before driving or performing complicated tasks

Dose

Recommended dose is one 10mg tablet daily

Common Side Effects

Sleepiness, headache, dizziness, sore throat, rhinitis, diarrhoea, nausea, dry mouth, fatigue.

Other Ingredients

Lactose monohydrate, maize starch, pregelatinised starch, purified talc, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171) and macrogol.

No special storage requirements .
