Drug Warning
This product does not provide any protection against sexually transmitted infections.
ellaOne does not work if you are already pregnant.
It is not to be used as regular contraception.
If your period is late or you have the symptoms of pregnancy (morning sickness and heavy breasts), you may already be pregnant.
Dose
Take one tablet orally as soon as possible, and no later than 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex/contraceptive failure. The sooner you take it, the more effective this treatment will be.
You can take the tablet at any time during your cycle and at an time in the day before, during or after a meal.
like pills or patches, they may be less temporarily less effective by this product. if you currently take regular hormonal contraception, you should continue to use it as usual after taking this, but you should use condoms each time you have intercourse until your next period.
Do not take ellaOne with another emergency contraceptive containing levonorgestrel. It can make this medicine less effective if taken together.
After taking ellaOne, it is normal for your period to be a few days late.
However, if it is more than 7 days late, if you experience abdominal pain, if the period is unusually light or heavy, if you have nausea/vomiting, or breast tenderness - you may be pregnant., and should take a pregnancy test right away.

If you are certain health conditions such as severe asthma which is treated with oral steroids. Or if you have severe liver disease.
If you are taking certain medications such as St Johns wort, or certain medications used to treat epilepsy, tuberculosis, HIV or fungal infections.

General Information
ellaOne can be effective at preventing pregnancy after 5 full days, but should be taken as soon as you can.
If you have unprotected intercourse after using ellaOne it will not prevent you from becoming pregnant. You should continue using condoms every time you have sex.
You can take ellaOne more than once during a cycle, but you should take care not to use it as a regular form of contraception.
In a small percentage of cases, you may bleed after taking ellaOne, but in the majority of cases it is spotting.
If you vomit after taking ellaOne
If you are sick within 3 hours of taking it, you should take another tablet as soon as possible.
