Elleste Solo is an oestrogen only Hormone Replacement Therapy product. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a treatment used in women, to relieve menopause-related symptoms. It works by replacing the decreased levels of hormones which occurs as you approach menopause.This type of HRT is only recommended if you have had your womb removed during a hysterectomy.Drug Warning

Taking an oestrogen-only HRT can increase the risk of excessive thickening of the womb lining, and endometrial cancer.
You should also talk to your doctor before attempting to stop Elleste Solo.
You should go for regular breast screening and smear tests.
You should also check your breasts regularly and see your doctor if you notice changes such as dimpling of the skin, nipple changes or you can see or feel any lumps.
There is an increased risk of risk of developing blood clots with HRT tablets. You should stop taking Elleste Solo and see a doctor if you notice signs of a blood clot.
Suitability criteria

Dose
Take one tablet daily. If you are still having regular periods you should take your first tablet on the first day of bleeding. But if you are not having regular periods, you can start taking it straight away.
ensure to take it within the next 12 hours. If it has already been more than 12 hours, start as normal by the next day.
it may increase the risk of there being breakthrough bleeding and spotting. Do not attempt to take a double dose.
It is recommended to start on a lower dose and increase if necessary. Please seek further advice if you need support with this.
Warnings and ContraindicationsYou should not take Elle Solo if any of the following applies to you:
If you have or have ever had breast cancer. Or you have a diagnosis indicating you may have breast cancer.
You have a cancer sensitive to oestrogen levels (such as cancer of the womb)
Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Excessive thickening of the womb lining (endometrial hyperplasia), that you have not had treatment for.
Certain blood clotting disorders.
A disease caused by blood clot in the arteries
You have or have ever had a liver disease, and liver function tests have not returned to normal levels.
