Suitability criteria
Dyspepsia
Gastro Oesophageal Reflux
Acid Reflux
Severe Oesophagitis
Dose
if the food pipe (gullet)has been slightly damaged, the recommended dose is Esomeprazole 40mg once a day for 4 weeks. It may be continued for another 4 weeks depending on progress.
Recommended dose is one 20mg tablet twice a day for one week. You may take Esomeprazole in combination with an antibiotic treatment
Warnings and Contraindications
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the additional ingredients.
Treatment with proton pump inhibitors may lead to slightly increased risk of gastrointestinal infections
Proton pump inhibitors, especially if used in high doses and over long durations (>1 year), may increase the risk of fractures, predominantly in the elderly or in presence of other recognised risk factors
