Evorel Patches are an oestrogen only Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) product. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a treatment used in women, to relieve menopause-related symptoms. It works by replacing the decreased levels of hormones which occurs as you approach menopause. This type of HRT is only recommended if you have had your womb removed during a hysterectomy.Drug Warning
Taking an oestrogen-only HRT can increase the risk of excessive thickening of the womb lining, and endometrial cancer.
Evorel is not a contraceptive.
You should contact a doctor if you experience unusual bleeding that carries on for more than the first few months, when on this product .
You should go for regular breast screening and smear tests.
You should also check your breasts regularly and see your doctor if you notice changes such as dimpling of the skin, nipple changes or you can see or feel any lumps.
There is an increased risk of risk of developing blood clots with HRT tablets. You should stop taking Evorel and see a doctor if you notice signs of a blood clot.

There is enough hormone in each patch to last several days.
You should change your patch twice a week, which ensures you have a steady supply of hormones.
You should change the patch on the same 2 days each week.
apply a new patch but continue to change your patches on the same days of the week. If it just after a bath/shower ensure your skin cools before applying the patch.
change it as soon as you remember and ensure to still change your patches on the same day of the week. Breakthrough bleeding and spotting may occur during this time period.
It is recommended to start on a lower dose and increase if necessary. Please seek further advice if you need support with this.
Warnings and ContraindicationsYou should not use Evorel if any of the following applies to you:
If you have, have had breast cancer or cancer of the uterus or other oestrogen-sensitive cancers.
If you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
If you have or have ever had a blood clot in a vein.
If you have a blood clotting disorder.
If you have or have ever had a liver disease and your liver function tests have not returned to normal.
If you have porphyria.
You have had blocked arteries, that has ever caused angina, a heart attack or stroke.
