Femoston Conti is a Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) product. HRT is a treatment used in women, to relieve menopause-related symptoms. It works by replacing the decreased levels of hormones which occurs as you approach menopause. Femoston Conti is a combined continuous sequential HRT product. This means that the oestrogen is dosed continuously, with the progestogen being added for a proportion of each 28-day cycle, in a sequential manner. It is used in woman who require oestrogen replacement and who have not had their womb removed (hysterectomy). Femoston Conti is used in postmenopausal women at least 6 months since last mense. The progestagen in this preparation can also protect you from the risk of excessive thickening of the womb lining, and endometrial cancer when taking an oestrogen.

You should contact a doctor if you experience unusual bleeding when on this product
You should go for regular breast screening and smear tests.
You should also check your breasts regularly and see your doctor if you notice changes such as dimpling of the skin, nipple changes or you can see or feel any lumps.
There is an increased risk of risk of developing blood clots with HRT tablets. You should stop taking Femoston Conti and see a doctor if you notice signs of a blood clot.

Dose
You should not take Femoston Conti until at least 12 months after your last natural period.
Your doctor will aim to prescribe the lowest dose to treat your symptoms for the shortest time possible. The standard dose is often one tablet every day for a 28 day cycle.
You should take this at the same time each day, and the blisters are marked according to the days of the week – you should follow this as it makes it easier to remember when to take it.
ensure to take it within the next 12 hours. If it has already been more than 12 hours, start as normal by the next day.
it may increase the risk of there being breakthrough bleeding and spotting. Do not attempt to take a double dose.
Warnings and ContraindicationsYou should not take Femoston if any of the following applies to you:
If you have or have ever had breast cancer. Or you have a diagnosis indicating you may have breast cancer.
You have a cancer sensitive to oestrogen levels (such as cancer of the womb)
Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Excessive thickening of the womb lining (endometrial hyperplasia), that you have not had treatment for.
Certain blood clotting disorders.
A disease caused by blood clot in the arteries
You have or have ever had a liver disease, and liver function tests have not returned to normal levels.

Breast pain or tenderness.
