Finasteride is a prescription only medication, often used as a 1mg daily dose in male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). It works by blocking an important enzyme which is involved in the regulation of the hair follicle.Drug Warning

Dose
The recommended dose is a single 1 mg tablet daily. It can be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal.
It will not work faster or better if you take them more than once a day.
You may need to take it for at least 3 - 6 months before you notice any increase in hair density, or reduction in hair loss.
Your doctor should be able to assess if Finasteride is working for you. It is important to continue to take them for as long as they are prescribed to you, and to also not continuously miss doses.
Common Side Effects
Some side effects are temporary with continued treatment, or can disappear when treatment is stopped.
Stop taking Finasteride immediately if you experience: Symptoms of an allergic reaction - I.e., swelling of the lips, face, tongue; difficulty swallowing; hives; breathing difficulties, depression or changes in breast tissue
Warnings and Contraindications
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the additional ingredients.
Not for use in women
Women of childbearing potential should avoid handling any broken or crushed Finasteride tablets.
