Imigran is used to treat migraine headaches and contains sumatriptan. It works by reducing the widening of blood vessels in the head, which stops the headache and and relives other symptoms associated with migraines – such as nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound.Drug Warning
This medicine may make you sleepy. If this happens, do not drive or use tools or machines.
Imigran should only be used where there is a clear diagnosis of migraine
Sumatriptan is not indicated for use in the management of hemiplegic, basilar or ophthalmoplegic migraine

Dose
The recommended dose of oral Imigran is a 50mg tablet. Some patients may require 100mg.
Initially 50–100 mg for 1 dose, followed by 50–100 mg after at least 2 hours if required, to be taken only if migraine recurs (patient not responding to initial dose should not take second dose for same attack)
Warnings and Contraindications
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the additional ingredients.
This medication should not be used if you have had a previous myocardial infarction (heart attack) or any type of stroke, or if you have heart disease, angina or vascular disease
Imigran is not suitable for people with moderate or severe high blood pressure, or poorly controlled mild increased blood pressure

Other Ingredients
Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose,croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, methylhydroxypropylcellulose (E464) and titanium dioxide (E171). The 50 mg tablet also containslactose, triacetin and iron oxide (E172).
