It can be used for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) symptoms, including heartburn and acid reflux, long-term management and prevention of relapse in reflux oesophagitis.
Nexium can also be used for the prevention of gastroduodenal ulcers caused by a group of painkillers called 'non-selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs' (NSAIDs)

if the food pipe (gullet)has been slightly damaged, the recommended dose is 40mg once a day for 4 weeks. It may be continued for another 4 weeks depending on progress.
Recommended dose is one 20mg tablet twice a day for one week. You may take Nexium in combination with an antibiotic treatment.
Further investigation is to be considered if symptoms persist despite adequate treatment.
Treatment with Esomeprazole may lead to a slightly increased risk of gastrointestinal infections caused by bacteria
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the additional ingredients.

Store in the original package (blister) in order to protect from moisture.
