Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) , i.e. cystitis.

Keep taking this medicine until the course is finished, unless you are told to stop

This medicine may color your urine

This medicine is harmful to the stomach. Take with or just after food or a meal

Swallow this medicine whole

Do not chew or crush

Space the doses evenly throughout the day

Suitability criteria

Cystitis

Lower Urinary Tract Infection

Dose

ONE to be taken MORNING and NIGHT

Warnings and Contraindications

Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the additional ingredients.

Common Side Effects

Your urine may become dark yellow or brown in colour. This is normal and not a reason to stop taking it.
