Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. It can be used for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) symptoms, including heartburn and acid reflux, long-term management and prevention of relapse in reflux oesophagitis. This medication can also be used for the prevention of gastroduodenal ulcers caused by a group of painkillers called 'non-selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs' (NSAIDs).

Warnings and Contraindications
Treatment with proton pump inhibitors may lead to slightly increased risk of gastrointestinal infections
Further investigation is to be considered if symptoms persist despite adequate treatment.
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the additional ingredients.
Dose
If your gullet has been slightly damaged, The recommended dose is 20mg once a day for 4 to 8 weeks.
