Progynova is an oestrogen only Hormone Replacement Therapy product in a patch form. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a treatment used in women, to relieve menopause-related symptoms. It works by replacing the decreased levels of hormones which occurs as you approach menopause.This type of HRT is only recommended if you have had your womb removed during a hysterectomy.Drug Warning

Taking an oestrogen-only HRT can increase the risk of excessive thickening of the womb lining, and endometrial cancer.
You should also talk to your doctor before attempting to stop Progynova patches.
You should contact a doctor if you experience unusual bleeding when on this product
You should go for regular breast screening and smear tests.
You should also check your breasts regularly and see your doctor if you notice changes such as dimpling of the skin, nipple changes or you can see or feel any lumps.
There is an increased risk of risk of developing blood clots with HRT tablets. You should stop taking Progynova patches and see a doctor if you notice signs of a blood clot.

Change the patch once a week.
Remove the protective liner from the patch, and place the patch (sticky side down), on a clean, dry area of the skin of your lower abdomen or buttocks.
It should not be applied to the breasts. The patches should be applied to a different site each time, especially ensuring that you do not apply to the same site twice in a row.
it can be reapplied or you can apply a new patch.
you should apply a patch for the remaining time period. If you forget to replace the patch for several days you may have breakthrough bleeding or spotting.
It is recommended to start on a lower dose and increase if necessary. Please seek further advice if you need support with this.
Warnings and ContraindicationsDo not use Progynova patches if any of the following applies to you:
You have or have ever had breast cancer, or any form of cancer sensitive to oestrogens.
You have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
You have excessive thickening of the womb lining endometrial hyperplasia that is not being treated.
You have or have ever had a blood clot in the vein (such as DVT in the legs)
You have a blood clotting disorder.
You have or have ever had a heart attack, stroke or angina.
You have or have ever had liver disease.
You have a rare blood condition called porphyria.

Isooctyl acrylate, acrylamide, vinyl acetate copolymer, ethyl oleate, isopropyl myristate.
Glycerol monolaurate on a polyester release liner protected by a backing film.
Storage
The product still contains some active ingredient even after using, which carries potential of causing harm to the environment, so please discard carefully. Patches should be folded in half, sticky side together, and then disposed of.
Do not store above 30°C.
